Description

The lounge chair Blow refers to the classic bean bag in construction and appearance. Both of them are exclusively manufactured from stuffing and fabrics but without the obvious disadvantages of the bean bag such as lack of firmness and comfort.
The idea for the chair evolved from a wish to improve and industrialize the expensive process of upholstery of furniture where much of the work is done by hand. With Blow designers Foersom and Hiort-Lorenzen have taken on the challenge of reversing the moulding process in order to facilitate mass production – that is to cover the mould with the fabric and shoot the foam into the fabric rather than covering the set foam with fabric. This technology is used by the car industry to make seats firm but without losing the softness.
